Muziklaban Rock Challenge Finals 2009

Muzik (for music) and Laban (for fight), Muziklaban continued to be the breeding ground for promising rock groups as Red Horse Beer concluded this year's Red Horse Beer Muziklaban Rock Challenge finals.

Hard rockers converged and joined Red Horse Beer Muziklaban icon and rock legend Joey “Pepe” Smith. It was like a grand reunion of the biggest names in the Pinoy rock scene withSlapshock, Kamikazee, Greyhoundz, Radioactive Sago Project, Kjwan, Intolerant, and Kapatid. It was held at Metrowalk Complex Open Parking Area in Ortigas, Pasig City

Hatankaru, the rock band from Bulacan, emerged as 2009 Muziklaban Rock Challenge Grand Champion winning P500,000 tax free. This after the top 5 bands from different parts of the country were pittied against each other in a final showdown that night a few weeks ago.

Other finalists who performed during the event were Cambronero, Hoodswhite, Kukumban, and 2nd Squad from Naga and Baguio, respectively. Hoodswhite is from Cagayan De Oro.

 

 

Past winners also rocked the concert venue such as 2008 Muziklaban Champion "Even", Gayuma (2007), HardBoiled Eggz (2006), and Mayonnaise (2005).

 

  

 

Other guest bands were Kadangyan, Zach Lucero and the Action Pack, Franco, Typecast, Music Hero, Chongkeys, Dogfight, Boy Elroy, Bloodshed, and COG
