Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge FINALS Set

The past two weeks was defined by an intense, but friendly, Ultimate Fandom Challenge as organized by FM radio station Wish 107.5 to highlight the value of celebrity fandoms in the OPM and Philippine music industry in general.

Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge

With the first Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge, the station aims to empower fandoms, listeners and music lovers, by enabling them to show their support and appreciation for the music of their favorite OPM artists.

Official fandoms with at least 1,000 members, organized for and recognized by the artist, were invited to participate in this challenge. The artist supported by the fandom must also be signed to a record label and has previously released a solo album.

A series of challenges tested the unity of the fandoms including the Online Voting challenge and Twitter Trending Battle, with 50% weight each, in the eliminations round. The former occurred April 25 to May 17, 2016 while the latter from April 25 to May 15, 2016.

As a result, the fandom of total performer Darren Espanto topped the online voting and also emerged victorious during the Twitter trending battle. The group made it to the number one and eight spots of the Philippines and worldwide trends lists, respectively.

The faculty of the Ateneo De Manila University’s Department of Mathematics served as the official tabulating partner.

Top Contenders Revealed

The hottest and latest update  recently named top contenders of the first Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge. Vying for the championship tilt are the:

• Darrenatics (Darren Espanto)
• Juanistas (The Juans)
• Dyfenders (Jason Dy)
• Mowienatics (Morissette Amon).

Also competing to be hailed as the 4th, 5th and 6th runners-up are the Wish Fandom Survivors – Juan Karlos United Families Club (JK Labajo), Francisnatics (Francis Lim) and Darylnatics (Daryl Ong).

Wish 107.5 Ultimate Fandom Challenge Finals Set

The finals night will be held on June 20 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum where a total of Php 2.3 million will be given away to the winning fandoms, their artists and chosen beneficiaries.

Apart from another round of online voting and Twitter trending battles, the remaining fandoms will go through a set of more intense challenges for the competition’s final stage. This includes an adventure race and a special collaboration with their favorite artist to be judged by prominent figures in the industry.
